Home again, home again

I can’t believe 2012 is coming to a close. And it seems to be coming to a close in a very weird way; my fingers are obstructed from the keyboard by a Golden Retriever head munching on his maimed birthday bone. On my lap.

Kinner had a lovely Christmas and birthday hanging out at Vintage Kennel Club in Sonoma. The people there took great care of him, but we could not have been happier to retrieve (heh heh) him on Thursday.

He also got to enjoy his Christmas present from Sar and Kurt, reinforcing the truth that nothing tops toys from his auntie and uncle.

“Don’t even think about it.”
We, on the other hand, went to Iowa for Christmas. We were greeted by this weather:

But this sunrise:

…and a great car ride from Minneapolis with Sar and Kurt.

I got to surprise my cousins at the Muilenburg family Christmas 😀

(Ulysses is a Swedish friend of ours otherwise known as Een Zydejoke).

I got an awesome scarf from Bekah that has excerpts from Pride & Prejudice on it:

and got to go to both our churches and sing a lot of awesome Christmas songs (yep, Rach, Bekah and I made a guest starring appearance to sing the Hallelujah Chorus at New Hope).

We snapped some family photos in there (which are hiding on my mom’s computer) and saw lots and lots of loved ones.

Now we’re getting back into the swing of things back here in Sonoma, studying for our WSET test that’s coming up in a few weeks (well, Cody is studying. I’m messing around on my blog), and having some excellent mid-holiday hangouts with our dear friends out here.

It was great to be home… but it’s great to be home.
